Community Earth Day Celebration 2017

47th Anniversary of Earth Day, Concert & Reception

Madison Area Community Earth Day Celebration Concert & Reception, featuring Madison Area Community Chorus & Orchestra, Guest Soloists, and Ringing Badgers Handbell Ensemble, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1021 Spaight Street, on Saturday, May 6 with shows at 2:00pm and 7:00pm. 
 
The program opens with Maestro's Ringing Badgers Handbell Ensemble.  Following intermission, the Madison Area Community Chorus & Orchestra, under the direction of Mark Bloedow, presents "Chandos Anthem 9" (complete) by George Frideric Handel and selections celebrating spring and Earth Day!  A reception will follow the concert in Immanuel's Lakeview Room.
 
Tickets for the event ($15 Adult, $12 Senior, $8 Child/Student) are available from Willy Street Co-op Stores (East, West, and North locations), online at http://maestroproductions.brownpapertickets.com, and at the door.

Highlights from Earth Day 2016

The Madison Area Community Earth Day Celebration Concert 2016, featuring Madison Area Community Chorus & Orchestra, Guest Soloists, and Ringing Badgers Handbell Ensemble, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1021 Spaight Street, was held on Saturday, April 23 (2pm) and Sunday, April 24 (2pm).  The program opened with Maestro's Ringing Badgers Handbell Ensemble.  Following intermission, the Madison Area Community Chorus & Orchestra, under the direction of Mark Bloedow, presented G. F. Handel's choral masterpiece "Ode for St. Cecelia's Day" and other selections.  Guest soloists include Rachel Edie Warrick, soprano, and J. Adam Shelton, lyric tenor.  A reception followed the concert in Immanuel's Lakeview Room. 

Highlights from Earth Day 2015

The Madison Area Community Earth Day Celebration Concert 2015 featured seventy local performers, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1021 Spaight Street, on Saturday, April 25 (shows at 2:00 & 7:00pm).  The program opened with Maestro’s Ringing Badgers Handbell Ensemble presenting highlights from their Spring concert including Johann Pachelbel’s beloved “Canon in D.” Following intermission, the Madison Area Community Chorus & Orchestra, under the direction of Mark Bloedow, presented the choruses and select solos and duets from Joseph Haydn’s choral masterpiece, “The Creation.”  Guest soloists include Rachel Edie Warrick, soprano; Daniel O’Dea, tenor; and Christopher Apfelbach, bass.  A delightful reception followed in Immanuel’s Lakeview Room with a stunning view of Lake Monona.
