Mark E. Bloedow, Executive/Artistic Director
Mark Bloedow, Assistant Professor of Music at Concordia University Wisconsin, is the Executive/Artistic Director of Maestro Productions, Inc. (including the Ringing Badgers Handbell Ensemble) and Music Director at Immanuel Lutheran Church, all located in Madison. He was previously Artistic Director for Maestro's Community Chorus & Orchestra and Madison's Choral Arts Society Chorale.
In 1989 Mark founded Maestro Productions, Inc. as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit performing arts organization in the Fox Cities, WI. Under his leadership as the founding director the organization grew to enjoy a year round scheduled of performances in theaters, churches, schools, and other hospitality venues. Maestro moved to Madison in 2002 and continues offering various community-based performing arts initiatives in Madison, Dane County, and Southern Wisconsin.
Mark earned his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he graduated with Outstanding Senior recognition. He received his Master's degree in Music from Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon. Prior to joining the music faculty at Concordia full-time, he served as guest adjunct Professor of Music to lead Kammerchor (Concordia’s touring choir), teach Music for Teachers, and perform as a Chapel organist, as well as, teach Handbell Music Methods in the Master of Church Music graduate program at Concordia.
Mark's professional involvement includes being active with the Madison area Association of Church Musicians (ACM), having served the organization for five years in key leadership roles including President of ACM and Dean of the American Guild of Organists Madison Chapter. He served on the Handbell Musicians of America Area 7 Board as the Wisconsin South Sub Area Chair. He is the founding Director of the Madison based Ringing Badgers Handbell Ensemble and serves as the Executive Director of Handbell Week in Madison each Summer.
In addition, Mark performs as an organ recitalist with previous appearances in Wisconsin and Nebraska. His handbell and organ works are published by Concordia Publishing House, St. Louis, Missouri; MorningStar Music Publishers, Fenton, Missouri; and Midwest Music, Madison, Wisconsin.
